Melbourne is achieving carbon-neutrality. But why stop there? As cities grapple with how to respond to the onset of climate change, one option is to move beyond carbon-neutrality and achieve negative emissions.

In this workshop for 12—14-year-olds, we are asking you, as young people of the 21st Century, to imagine and create a speculative design for a post-carbon-neutral Melbourne. Let your sensory experiences, concerns, and imaginings inspire you. Working with other like-minded people, you will dream up solutions Melbourne could implement to further adapt to climate change. These ideas can be as crazy or as simple as you like.

Presented in collaboration with artist-researchers from Local Alternatives and the Creative Agency Lab at RMIT.

This event has been developed as part of the M_Curators, an MPavilion program engaging young makers, doers and programmers. This initiative is made possible by our presenting partner Bloomberg Philanthropies.
