Purient is the pseudonym of Melbourne based electronic producer and vocalist Kate Durman. A fixture of AUS/LA label Burning Rose Records; Purient has traversed her own thoughts with uncanny attention to detail, subverting pop normality to bring an introverted, brooding and dynamic sound. Part of the upcoming and excitable underground music scene in Melbourne, Purient’s distinguishable sound is all parts experimental, contemplative and unpredictable.
