Lilli McKenzie is a third year student in the Bachelor of Fashion (Design) program at RMIT University School of Fashion and Textiles. Her design practice is influenced by her background in art and photography. Growing up surrounded by a melting pot of subcultures, Lilli’s interaction with her friends and community inspire her aesthetic. In her current collection ‘Souvenirs’, Lilli is exploring a modern (post-pandemic) approach on vacation-wear gaining influence from 90’s menswear and holiday memorabilia. She describes her work as well curated streetwear, using sun exposure to dye photographs onto fabric as the hero of the designs.
