Liam Ramirez is a Bachelor of Fashion (Design) student at RMIT University School of Fashion and Textiles, with a focus on nostalgic approaches to fashion design and with unconventional methods of creation. Growing up Filipino-Australian, Liam uses nuanced referencing and symbolism of his heritage to explore tensions between themes of identity and tradition, through the context of draping, layering and colour. Liam studied abroad at FIT in New York in early 2020. Living in Manhattan, he was able to experience New York Fashion week first-hand by assisting behind the scenes with creatives and designers alike.
