Gretel Taylor

Gretel Taylor is a dancer, artist, curator and researcher. She is a key artist of Environmental Performance Authority (EPA), as well as an independent practitioner whose work is often site-responsive and socially engaged, activating decolonizing and ecological themes. Taylor’s PhD explored relationships between place, body and identity in Australia through a place-based improvisational dance practice. Influences include Body Weather training, live art and community cultural development. She has taught Dance and Performance at RMIT, Victoria, Monash and Deakin Universities and currently teaches Body Weather at Dancehouse. Current projects include Gretel’s curatorial project Dancing Place: Corhanwarrabul, supported by Yarra Ranges Council, and video works with Laki Sideris.
