Barrie Barton

Barrie Barton is a lawyer by qualification, an entrepreneur by nature and an urban strategist by profession. In
2005, he set up Right Angle Studio: a business dedicated to understanding and improving life in cities. Through
years of working on competitive property bids Barrie and his team have helped clients win over $6billion worth of
new work from large-scale state-government projects to boutique cultural and residential developments including
the recent Darling Harbour Live – Entertainment Precinct.
At the institutional end of town, through Right Angle Studio, Barrie provides strategic advice to governments,
large brands and developers such as; Tourism Victoria, Lendlease, Monash University, GPT, City of Sydney and
CommBank, but also with niche businesses like The Future Laboratory, MCA, Hotel Hotel, and Unlisted
Collection who want to understand what city people will need in the future and how to develop property that can
realise value by meeting those demands.
At the fine-grain end of town, Barrie has started a number of notably successful businesses including Australia’s first ever online city guides along with Melbourne’s Rooftop Cinema and is CEO of Sydney’s successful Golden Age Cinema & Bar, and most recently Paramount Recreation Club.
Barrie currently calls Sydney home but is engaged in property projects across Australia, in London and Bangkok where his casual and intelligent approach to creating valuable property is yielding extraordinary results for the industry and end-users alike.
