66 Records is a boutique hip hop label formed by friends John Nelson and Abraham Poni and a collective of young African artists; built from the basement studio of their housing projects buildings in Melbourne’s inner-city suburb of Collingwood.
Now with an active roster of half a dozen artists and many more on their radar, 66’s focus has been primarily on putting out urban music by young artists of minority ethnicities. The label has built a grass roots following around Melbourne with its feverish live events.
